Definition of ROAD-GOING. For the purposes of the Club Championship, a road-going car should be capable of passing an MOT test in the Class in which it competes, but there is no requirement for trailered vehicles to have a current MOT certificate or Road Fund Licence. Tyre type is free, but they must be road legal (not slicks, which relegates the car to Class 8). For guidance, see the Production Tyre list for Classes 6 & 7 in the ANICC Hillclimb and Sprint Championship Regs (Section 8.2.4, Points 2, 4 and 5). (There is no formal TSCC objection to cars being trailered to events. However, in view of the Club aim to encourage the use of the cars on the roads, we would like as many members as possible to drive their cars to events.)
Car/driver combinations will be awarded points based on their performance in their respective Classes at nominated events. A full calendar of the 2008 season will be published, along with the "drop score" criteria and the Club Handicap for Speed events
Hillclimbs and Sprints - cars are classified according to the complex ANICC rules for competition purposes. We then take the results, re-classify them in accordance with the above Club Classes and apply the handicap to obtain the points scored towards the Championship.
Races - Handicaps are applied after practice and are given to drivers before the start.
Points are applied in each Class -
Three or more finishers
1st - 20 points; 2nd - 18 points; 3rd - 16 points; 4th - 15 points; etc.
Two finishers
1st - 18 points; 2nd - 16 points
One finisher
16 points
Race points are awarded in two parts - half the points on the race result and half for Class finishers.
In addition to the individual Class Championships, competitors in Classes 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be eligible for the Derek Walker Memorial Trophy, which will be awarded to the competitor with the highest Class points total of all the scoring events. If a competitor from Classes 5, 6, 7 or 8 accumulates more points that the Derek Walker Memorial Trophy winner, then the Club will present an additional award to that Overall Points Champion.
Noto Bene -
In order to score points in the Club Championship, competitors must be fully paid up members before the event* and must claim points from the Competitions Secretary on the forms provided. This is due to the amount of confusion which has resulted from the previous informal system, which caused some scores to be missed. Do not rely on the CompSec picking up your scores - it is not his job.
Please establish the Class in which you will be competing before the season starts - do not leave it until the first event and keep the queue waiting! If in doubt, consult with the CompSec. All mid-season changes to the vehicle must be notified to the CompSec - the penalty being loss of points scored to date.
